Barrier - Free University Awards

The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) carries out various initiatives under the themes of Accessible Education and Accessible Campus. Within the scope of the Barrier-Free University Awards, flag awards and program badges are granted to universities.

Barrier-Free University flags are awarded in three categories: Orange Flag (accessibility in physical spaces), Green Flag (accessibility in education), and Blue Flag (accessibility in socio-cultural activities).

Program badges are granted to academic programs that make their compulsory courses accessible for students with disabilities.

Across our university, all physical and digital structures—from information systems to social areas—are organized in accordance with accessibility principles. In addition, accessibility guidelines for teaching are prepared for academics, and support is provided for converting course materials into accessible formats.

Thanks to these comprehensive efforts, our University has become one of the prominent institutions recognized in the Barrier-Free University Awards presented by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
