I am a prospective student with disabilities/special needs who will take the special talent test. How can I inform you about the accommodations I request for the test process?

Necessary measures will be taken if you submit the accommodations you need in the tests due to your disability / special need status and the report showing that you are disabled to the Coordinationship.

Are there quotas reserved for disabled students in Sakarya University Bachelor's and Associate's degree programs?

There are no quotas reserved for students with disabilities in our university's Bachelor's and Associate's degree programs except for programs that take students through special talent tests. For more information about special talent tests, you can follow the web pages of the relevant units.

 

Are there quotas reserved for disabled students in master's and doctoral programs at Sakarya University?

Students with disabilities can benefit from the student with special conditions quota only for the master's programs (with thesis), and the quota is limited to two students each semester from the specified programs. Student with special conditions applications are received with the "Student With Special Condition Application Form" within the period specified in the application calendar. Apart from the student with special conditions application procedure, there is no quota reserved for disabled students.

 

I am a disabled student. How can I submit my information to you?

The students with disabilities/special needs can share their personal and contact information, along with their reports from authorized hospitals showing that they are disabled with us through our contact information on our web page, thus they can track the accommodations they request.

 

I am a disabled staff member. How can I submit my information to you?

The University staff with disabilities/special needs can share their personal and contact information, along with their reports from authorized hospitals showing that they are disabled with us through our contact information on our web page, thus they can track the accommodations they request.

 

I would like to benefit from accommodations in courses and exams. How can I request these accommodations?

You can notify the Coordinationship about the education and exam accommodations you request along with your report showing that you are disabled. In addition, it is recommended that you contact the academic personell responsible for the relevant course and inform them about the accommodations you request.

 

I have an idea for a social responsibility / research project on disability. How can you help me?

You can contact the Coordinationship to get ideas or consultancy about your project, to reach the target audience of the project, such as individuals with disabilities / special needs, and to support the development of your project in different aspects.

 

Is the health / special needs information I share with the Coordinationship entered into the students' record?

No; students' special needs information is only used to accommodate the activities to be carried out according to the condition of students with special needs and does not affect the students' records.

 

Are exemptions granted to students with disabilities?

No. For courses that a student with special needs is determined to be unable to take due to their condition, the equivalent of the course will be provided upon application by the student; If an equivalent course is not available, accommodations will be made using special programs and techniques to enable the student to succeed in the course they are required to take.

 

Are any scholarships provided to students with disabilities/special needs?

Students with disabilities/special needs who are determined to be in need are supported to benefit from the scholarship opportunities of the university and other NGOs, and to work part-time at the university.
